Walking

Walking

Today, I was about to hop in my car to bring my son home from school. Just as usual.

But then I changed my mind.
I don’t have to rush back to the office anymore. Besides, it was such a bright, sunny day – so why not walk?

“Dad, where is the car?” – he asked.
“There is no car” – I said. “We’ll just walk home.”
We had a great time together.

Simple things like walking can make us happier.

How sad we forgot to enjoy these simple things.
Instead, we pretend that we do something meaningful in our crappy little cubicles. Surrounded by people we don’t like, doing stuff we mostly hate.
Don’t pretend anymore. Just… walk (away).
